Craftsman style cabinetry relies largely on the concept of
form-over-function with an emphasis on strong, clean lines. The beauty
is found in its simplicity, the style having derived its influence from
the British Arts and Crafts movement of the 1860’s. The wood species
used at that time were those that were most readily available to the
builder such as cherry, maple, and red oak. These woods are still
proudly used in craftsman style cabinetry today.
